This piece is from Tiffany Lester's personal collection of art + textiles.
Slow stitching is the mindful process of hand sewing for the purpose of creating art. Evolving over 20 years, the fabric in this piece was hand dyed by Tiffany in 1999 during her time studying fine arts in Newfoundland. The hand stitching was completed during the global pandemic as a means to keep the hands busy and calm the mind.
Details: This piece remains in embroidery hoop used to work the project. Reclaimed leather scraps were used to create a hanger.
